Three trails that start at reception
The best thing about the campsite’s three trails is that they start where your coffee ends: at the reception door. No car, no app, no trailhead car park.
The cove trail (10 minutes, flip-flops will do). The classic. A gentle descent through the pine wood, shower on the way back. Kids have been doing it on their own for three generations.
The lighthouse trail (a good hour, closed shoes). It follows the cliff and keeps handing out viewpoints. The right time is the last hour of the afternoon: you reach the lighthouse at sunset and walk back in the cool. Carry water in July and August.
The high pine wood (two hours round trip, boots if it has rained). The most serious and the quietest. In April the rosemary is in bloom and the whole bay opens up from the top. It’s the one we recommend to people who say they already know the area.
At reception we keep the paper map, the old-fashioned kind. Ask for it — that’s what it’s there for.
